How does online sports registration work?

Can I create my own custom fields?

Yes. When you first setup a registration program, we automatically create default fields for the most common information. You can then insert your own data fields to track whatever you wish. We allow you to insert text, checkboxes, or even select lists.

Can parents register multiple children?

Yes, you can even give discounts for parents who register multiple children at once.

Fees Collection

How do I collect fees?

Fees are collected through PayPal. So you will have to first Sign up for a PayPal Business Account.

Can I use your registration system without integrating to PayPal?

We currently only integrate to the PayPal system. If you utilize a different payment gateway service, please contact us.

What if I don't collect any fees?

Not a problem. You can just create a new registration program without any fees specified.

Do I need a merchant account for my club to use Teamopolis and collect credit card payments?

No, all you need to collect fees is a PayPal Business Account. PayPal will handle all credit card, debit card, and online check processing.

Is a PayPal account required in order for registrants to pay?

No. People registering for your program do not need a PayPal account in order to pay. We use PayPal for processing payments, and giving you the control to handle your money.

Do you allow partial payments?

Yes.

Can you do refunds?

After we send the registrant to PayPal to make a payment, it is completely out of our hands. You can then log into your PayPal business account and then issue a full or partial refund.

Reports

Can I get reports from everybody who has registered?

Yes, you can get reports about the person paying, or the individual participants. You can filer or sort your report online. We also give you the ability to export the report to Excel.

Costs

Are there setup fees?

We don't have any setup fees, and there is no setup fee for registering a PayPal business account either.

How much does it cost?

Its really simple. We charge $1 per participant. We work on a pre-paid credit system with 1 credit equalling $1.

To get started, you will have to purchase an initial amount of credits for registration (say 100 credits), and it will cost you 1 credit per participant as they register on the site.

You are however, responsible for all PayPal fees for processing payments through your PayPal account.

PayPal's fees consist of:
2.9% of the registration fee + 0.30 per transaction

For example, a registration fee of $100 would cost:

+ $1.00 (Teamopolis)
+ $2.90 (PayPal Processing Fee 2.9%)
+ $0.30 (PayPal Transaction Fee)
---------
= $4.20 per participant.

I have 1 parent registering 3 children, how much would it cost?

It will cost 3 credits plus PayPal processing fees, since each child is considered a single participant.

Are registration credits transferrable?

Yes. Registration credits are pooled together, and credits are used up as participants are registered. If you have unused credits at the end of your registration period, the unused credits are applied to your next registration.

How is the PayPal fee applied?

Once a payment is processed through PayPal, PayPal automatically retains a portion for processing and transaction fees. Keep this in mind when determining your registration fees.

Does partial/multiple payments cost more?

We still charge $1 per participant regardless of the number of payments that are made. However, each time a payment is processed through PayPal, you will be charged an additional $0.30 transaction fee.

Doesn't PayPal offer rates as low as 1.9 percent?

Yes, PayPal does offer lower rates based on the sales volume of the previous month. Here is a link to more information about PayPal's rates.

How do I sign up for a PayPal Account?

You need a PayPal Standard Business account in order to receive payments through our Online Registration System. You can sign up for the proper PayPal Account Here.

Security

Is our Money Safe?

We utilize the security and safety of PayPal's services for fund collection and payment processing, find out how safe your online registration fees are.

What happens to the information collected by Teamopolis?

All personal information that you provide when you register with Teamopolis is stored securely in our database. This information is only sent to the organizations that you register for.

Your information is not shared with anyone other than Teamopolis registered organizations that you have chosen to register with.

Does Teamopolis keep credit card, bank, or other financial information?

No. All financial information is handled through PayPal.

We only store your PayPal account name (which is an e-mail address) so we can tell PayPal where to apply the registration fees when people register and pay.

Does Teamopolis sell personal information to outside organizations?

No. Your personal information is stored securely in our database and we do not sell it to or share it with any organization other than those with which you are registered.
